There is something incredibly exciting and nerve wracking about planning the wedding for your best friend. Luckily enough for me, when that person is as laid back and low key as Mel is, you really get free reign to pull her vision together - no questions asked.
The time leading up to the big wedding day can be stressful. That seems like the understatement of the year, but even as planners we feel that stress. We want the day to be just right and admittedly there are jitters. This was true for Cait and Matt’s wedding day. Here’s the thing though, the way they looked at each other, and how HILARIOUS and laid back they were, made it feel like we were throwing a party for old friends. The anxiety of the day melts away when you connect with a bride and groom like these two.
How can it possibly be 2019 already? It feels like just yesterday that we decided to take the leap into entrepreneurship and bring our dream for Honey + Heart to life. Fifteen months and eight amazing weddings later, it fills our hearts with warmth and gratitude to look back on what a wonderful year 2018 was.
This was a first for us - two weddings in one weekend. We had many reasons for doing this: both weddings would be in the Keweenaw Peninsula - a place that we can’t get enough of, both weddings would be photographed by the incredibly talented Vienna Glenn Photography, two weddings in one weekend decreased the travel time for us, and of course, we loved both couples!
It’s not every day that your little sister gets married. Being the oldest child followed by two brothers, I was BEYOND excited when I found out that I would finally be getting a sister. Finally someone to play dolls with, dress up with, barbies with! And of course, through the years, wedding with :)
